From 18.08 to 09.10.2022, the Moscow Museum of Modern Art presented a collective project of young artists of the Free Workshops School of Contemporary Art – “Workshop. 20’22. Future is now”.
The exhibition was held as part of the MMOMA Young Art Support Program.
This year, “The Workshop” turned to the theme of the future and invited the viewer to rethink personal experience and expectations. Graduates of the Free Workshops School of Contemporary Art presented their versions of the “future” and answered questions about what our world will be like tomorrow and whether it meets our expectations.
Cryptocurrencies, delivery robots, drones, smartphones and virtual worlds are all just superficial signs. But have we ourselves changed? Or do the same frightened primates live in the present-future that were amazed at the extraterrestrial obelisk in A Space Odyssey?
This year it was proposed to reflect on what our world will be like tomorrow, and what are our expectations for this “tomorrow”. My work makes it possible to expand the experience of perceiving oneself as a person not only manifested physically, but something much more multidimensional, invisible, and at the same time very concrete.
