Between sleep and reality — a group exhibition of students and graduates of the Free Workshops School of Contemporary Art, MMOMA, curated by Tatiana Savelyeva and Elena Golubeva.
The exhibition featured painting, graphics, sculpture, installations and video art.
The unknown is scary. You get used to this state and stop noticing it, because we know how to predict, control, plan and believe. People have learned to subdue the uncertainty of tomorrow, trusting their own consciousness, drawing a picture of the future based on previous experience.
But sometimes things happen that change everything. Falling asleep in the old world, we wake up in the new. Fear of a new day binds and paralyzes. The boundary state between dreams and reality becomes the time between the past and the future, when you can realize and prepare for reality.
When habitual schemes collapse, new supports are needed. To wake up in the real world, you need to gather all your strength, find landmarks, determine the direction of movement. Gather again before a new day.
